About Us TEIGLAND, FRANKLIN & BROKKEN, DVM’s, P.A. is dedicated solely to the care and treatment of the racetrack thoroughbred. Situated in the heart of the horseracing district, our veterinary practice, located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, has been serving the South Florida racing community since 1946.
In 2000, TFB expanded operations to the Mid-Atlantic region, where we serve Delaware Park and Fair Hill Training Center, and in 2005, we expanded once again to Saratoga Springs, New York.
In addition to the daily care provided to the racing thoroughbred, our veterinarians perform pre-purchase examinations for prospective buyers of yearlings and two-year-olds at the annual sales held in Miami and Ocala, Florida; Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky; and Saratoga Springs, New York. We also travel within the U.S. and abroad to serve our clients who request our assistance.
With 13 veterinarians on staff, we are able to have several veterinarians on site at each racetrack during their respective racing meets, providing quality equine veterinary care at the following locations: FLORIDA Palm Beach Downs Training Center Payson Park Training Center

NEW YORK All three of our “founding fathers”, Dr. M. B. Teigland, Dr. Benjamin Franklin, Jr. and Dr. Thomas D. Brokken, are past Presidents of the American Association of Equine Practitioners. In addition, another of our practice owners, Dr. Luis Castro, is a past President of the Florida Association of Equine Practitioners.
